520 Care-hood Micro Expo
"520 Care-hood Micro Expo"     The "2023 CAREER Awareness Day" event was successfully organized by BOKSS on May 19th and 20th at the Hong Kong Science Park.       On May 20th, we successfully organized the "520 Care-hood Micro Expo" in collaboration with nine NGOs from the CAREREPS Platform, with an impressive turnout of over 2,000 participants. Thanks to the generous support of the SIE Fund and our esteemed partners, we were able to showcase a total of 30 booths that highlighted a range of caregiver-related services to the general public. In addition to our comprehensive suite of services, we facilitated various engaging initiatives, including carer experience sessions, human library events, expressive arts therapy workshops, etc.     We had invited Ms. Wendy Fung, District Social Welfare Officer (Sha Tin), Social Welfare Department, as the officiating guest, along with Ms. May Fung, District Social Welfare Officer (Tai Po & North District), Social Welfare Department, Mr. Tik Chi Yuen, SBS, BBS, JP, legislative council member, Ms. Angie Chan, Chief Officer, Family & Community, The Hong Kong Council of Social Service, Ms. Kathy Kwan, Marketing and Public Relations Manager, Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau, and the representatives of the CAREREPS Platform, to participate in the opening ceremony with their presence.      
"2023 CAREER Awareness Day" — "CARE is RIGHT"     The "2023 CAREER Awareness Day" event was successfully organized by BOKSS on May 19th and 20th at the Hong Kong Science Park. On May 19th, our organization hosted the "CARE is RIGHT Conference" which focused on the rights and support of carers. The conference provided an opportunity for caregivers to identify themselves, gain respect, and receive protection for their rights and interests. The conference was conducted in a hybrid format, with a participation count exceeding 500.     The conference was inaugurated with a welcome message from Rev. Dave Kwok and Siu Nam, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Baptist Oi Kwan Social Service.   Following that, the Under Secretary for Labor and Welfare, Mr. Ho Kai Ming, JP, delivered the opening remarks. We have invited esteemed individuals in the field of caregiving to serve as keynote speakers, including Prof. Lou, Vivian W.Q., Director of The University of Hong Kong Sau Po Centre on Aging; Ms. C. Grace Whiting, J.D., Executive Director of The National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (U.S.); and Dr. Andrea Budnick, Researcher at the Institute of Medical Sociology and Rehabilitation Science (Germany). Also, we have invited legal professionals, professors, members of the Legislative Council, CEOs of NGOs, and experienced carers to engage in a comprehensive dialogue regarding policy, innovative services, and the challenges carers face in Hong Kong.     "CARER Awareness Day" aims to enhance public awareness regarding carers, establish a network of individuals, and build an effective support network to foster a caregiver-friendly community.
